3rd Grade : What's this?
3rd grade students have been studying a new topic, `What's this?`. This topic has been very popular because there are lots of fun activities that we can do using that phrase `What's this?`.
We like to start every class with a greeting game. This is a good way to get into the right mindset for English class. We can also practice phrases we have studied after asking "How are you?", too.
"What's this?"
"It's my nametag!"
The students enjoy talking to their friends.
Good eye contact!
Nice smile!
The teachers pick some students to give a demonstration. The other students have to watch and say what was good about the demonstration.
"Nice eye contact!"
During our first class on the topic `What's this?`, Ms. Emily gave a powerpoint quiz. She showed a lot of close-up pictures and everyone had to guess what it was.
"What's this?"
Can you tell?
"I know, I know!"
"It's a chair!"
"Yes, that's right!
In the second class on this topic Ms. Shoko made new quizzes using a bag and a black box. The students can feel the objects without looking and guess what they are.
"I have something secret in my bag. What's this?"
"I want to try!"
Ms. Shoko made this amazing box. "What's this?"
At first, no one knows what is in the box.
Ms. Shoko made a special flap so that the other students could see what was in the box.
"Oh!!"
The students can give hints. "Sports!!"
"What's this?"
"It's a baseball!"
"Yes!"
Great job everyone! Thanks you teachers for creating such fun activities!
