5th Grade : Treasure Hunt!
Recently, 5th grade students had their last class on the topic `Where is the treasure?`. In this topic they have studied how to give directions and also describe where something is using the words `on`, `in`, `under` and `by`.
We started class with a greeting game. Today's question was "What's your favorite character?". Everyone had to give hints and guess what character that their friends liked.
"Guess what?!"
"Hint, please."
"It's a cat!"
"Is it Doraemon?"
"That's right!"
After the greeting game the teachers demonstrated the main activity for the lesson.
It was a treasure hunt in pairs. One person had the map and the other person had to ask them for directions to find things.
The treasure cards were hidden in, on, by and under the desks around the room. There were two sets of maps so that each person could take a turn to give directions.
Each hidden card also had a number of points. The students could find 7 cards. Some cards had negative points, too.
The students didn't know which treasures would be worth a lot of points.
They just had to guess.
After watching the demonstration and deciding what 7 treasures to search for it was time to do the activity.
"Go straight, turn right!"
"It's in the desk."
"How many points?"
"It's on the desk."
"Minus 5 points! Oh no!"
It was a very fun activity. Everyone enjoyed it very much. Good job everyone!
