* learnt (British English) = learned (American English)

Next, we played the keyword game for the first time.

When she said the keyword we had to grab the eraser.

5th Grade : What do you like?

5th Grade students have just finished studying shapes and colors. They interviewed their classmates to find out the most popular colors and shapes in their class.

IMG_7707.jpg

Then they designed t-shirts using those colors and shapes and they asked their classmates in groups to pick their favorite t-shirt.

The most popular t-shirt in each class was made into a t-shirt for our school English mascot, Anejiro.

In the opening address(³«¼°¤Î¸ÀÍÕ) students from each year introduced their performances.

2nd grade students have been studying English hard. Today, class 1 had their last English class for this topic. It looked like so much fun!

First the students did silent greetings. They had to greet each other without saying anything! Smiling and making eye contact is very important when you do silent greeting.

IMG_7888.jpg

Then the students did English greeting. It was great to be able to speak again! They happily greeted their friends.

IMG_7904.jpg

Next, everyone chanted together. The chant has lots of gestures so it was a lot of fun!

IMG_7914.jpg

All the students picked a colored plate and then they made pairs. They had to ask their friends about different pizza toppings.

IMG_7935.jpg

Do you like tomatoes? Do you like cheese? Do you like green peppers? Then, they made a special pizza for their friend.

6th Grade : Where is the station?

The 6th grade students have been studying how to ask and give directions. Today we had our last class for this topic. Ms. Goto prepared some great props and turned one of the classrooms into a town!

IMG_7784.jpg

First we did a greeting game and practiced some English we learned last year. We asked everyone "What color do you like?". It was good practice to remember 5th grade English too.

IMG_7786.jpg

After that we took turns to be taxi drivers and customers. The taxi drivers didn't know the way, so the customers had to give them directions.

IMG_7773.jpg

We got to use a lot of English and practice both giving and asking for directions. It was a very fun class!

IMG_7808.jpg

Hopefully we can use this English in the future!

Recess in the English Room (Mondays and Thursdays)

At morning recess we can visit the 1st floor English room. We do different activities on different days so there is always something interesting to do.

books1.jpg

On Mondays and Thursdays we have reading time. Ms. Emily will read English books to us and some of us will look at English picture books by ourselves.

The English room has so many books that there is always a new book to read! The books have nice pictures, too. Currently the student's favourite book is 'Color Surprise'. Ms. Emily gives us hints about what animal is behind the flap. We raise our hands to guess the answer!
