Making Jomon pottery

"Make a shape by piling up strips of clay one by one"

In this workshop, you will make Jomon pottery with clay. Select the size of the clay you want to use from 'extra large' (2kg), 'large' (1kg), 'small' (500g), or 'mini' (250g).
Finish it off by adding a pattern with tools such as cord. Your earthenware will be completed after drying it for about 1 month and then open-firing (kiln-firing) it.

※ For the extra large size option, only individuals can participate and reception is until 11.30 a.m.

Material cost ¥ 800 (extra large); ¥ 400 (large); ¥ 200 (small); ¥ 100 (mini) (including open-firing (kiln firing) charge)

※ If you cannot come to the museum on the open-firing day, we will do it for you. In that case, please come to collect your work at a time after that.
※ Please be aware that there may be some damage to your work when drying or open-firing it.
※ Works made from mid-October to the end of February will be fired by a kiln.
