5th grade students have been studying Hi,friends!1 Lesson 4 `I like apples.` Since they studied the phrase `Do you like~?` as 4th grade students, we are focusing on expanding their vocabulary and reactions. In this week's class the students made each other sandwiches.

First the teachers demonstrated.
"Mr. Suda, how are you?"
"Oh, I'm so hungry!"
"Oh, no! I'll make you a sandwich!"

First you have to check each sandwich ingredient.
"This is tuna. Do you like tuna?"
"Yes, I do!"

Let's look at the final result.
Wow! Tuna and roast beef?! Mr. Suda likes strange sandwiches!

Then it was time for the students to try.
Nice eye contact!

"Do you like cucumber?"
Great smile!

"Do you like onions?"
"No, I don't!!"

Next the teachers had two good students give a demonstration.
"Let's watch!"
"Do you like tomatoes?"
"No, I don't."
"Okay."
The students thought about the demonstration's good points. They had very good reactions! Let's change partners and try again while thinking about our reactions.

"Do you like cheese?"
"Yes, I do."
"Me, too!"

The students tried hard to give reactions.
It made the conversation flow smoothly.

"I don't like lettuce."
"Oh, I see."

"Show me your sandwich, please."
"No vegetables? Oh, no! You don't like vegetables!"

"Look at my sandwich!"
"I added everything! Hehe!"

Lastly the students nominated their friends who had good reactions and everyone watched together.
